It has been a busy past few weeks. I have been working on two new 3 dimensional works. The first piece I started before I had to fly to Houston to testify in the sentencing case of the drunk driver who killed the Art Car Museum's curator, Tom Jones. When I returned from this trip, I spent the next few days at the ArtPalmBeach fair where Verve Gallery was presenting my work. Once the fair was over, I was able to go back to work to finish this piece. Since then I have been busy with a new work that I am hoping to complete in the upcoming week.
My goal for this year is to concentrate on developing new ideas and focus on producing a body of original artworks. So far I have generated a number of new ideas and I am working to create them as quickly as I can. I am hoping in a few months I can afford to hire a few assistants to help the process along.
So in the meantime, I will be working away.

Work at ArtPalmBeach Art Fair, Jan. 14-19th

2010 is already getting off to a great start with my work being shown by Verve Gallery at the ArtPalmBeach Art Fair from January 14th to 19th. The gallery will presenting a few of my edition works as well as a few my original pieces at the fair. You can get tickets for the opening night of the ArtPalmBeach Fair here.
As for other news, I have been brainstorming ideas for new 2 and 3 dimensional works that I will realize this year. It is going to be an exciting year.

Now that the holidays are over, I am excited to start 2010. Already I am beginning with my work being shown by Verve Gallery at the ArtPalmBeach Art Fair from January 14th to 19th. The gallery will presenting a few of my edition works and maybe a few original pieces at the fair. If you would like to attend and need tickets, please contact me, and I will see what I can do.

Recovered and getting back to painting

I spent the last week recuperating from the ArtBasel Miami Beach art fair. It is an intense week of week of viewing art, openings, cocktail parties, talking with old and new friends, late nights, and early mornings. In addition to the regular routine of exhausting affairs, this year I presented a new performance where I created a mobile video installation in a homeless shopping cart that I pushed around through the streets of Miami Beach during the fair while wearing a tuxedo. The project investigated the effects of consumerism on our society by juxtaposing the haves with the have nots engaged in the same activities. The project was well received and was reviewed in flavorwire. It also allowed me to engage with the many people who were in town for the event that I would not have been able to meet otherwise.
As for other news, my solo exhibition at Arch Gallery has closed. "Stimulus Package" was the inaugural exhibition for the gallery and featured new works as well as some familiar pieces. The show was well attended and received positive feedback.
Now that I have taken a few days to recuperate as well as catch up on a number of activities that I have neglected over the past couple of weeks, I plan to start on some new paintings.
