Eins Werden

Monday, June 6th, today I bought a 1990 Mercedes Benz 190 Diesel! After looking for over a week, I came down to 3 choices. I looked at each car thoroughly and came upon a decision. I bought the one that was way west of Berlin in a small village. It turns out, the car was registered the last day the DDR (the East German Government) existed, October 2, 1990. The car was purchased in Berlin by the wife's father in 1990. He used it for the first year as a taxi and then for his private use. The car has only had one owner and is original in nearly every detail. It doesn't appear to have ever been wrecked and has no rust. So when I return at the end of June, I will be able to get started right away with the project. The only thing I will have to do that I did not accomplish this trip is find a place to live. Now it's time to go back to Miami to take care of loose ends before coming back to Berlin. The real fun will start in less than 3 weeks!
