The billboard went up in the New York Financial District on Monday, June 6th. The sign is facing south and is posted above the subway entrance on the northeast corner of Broadway 35 feet north of Rector Street. It will be up through the 4th of July and announces the availability of my work at Museum of American Financial History.
As for the German Project, I purchased the 1990 Mercedes Benz 190 on Monday, June 6th. I flew back to Miami from Berlin early in the morning of June 7th. Since my return to Miami, I have been taking care of many details and other preparations that I need to do before I leave to go back to Berlin on June 23rd. One of which is updating my website with the many pictures that I have been taking while I was in Berlin. If you go to the
image galleries of the Eins Werden section, you will see all the different and various Mercedes and Trabants and their owners that I visited to find the right cars for the project. You will also get to see the two cars that I eventually bought during this past trip. If you have been following the Eins Werden blog the past few weeks, you will find the pictures give the entries a new dimension. Now I just have to take care of loose ends here in Miami before I go back to Berlin at the end of the month to start the fusion of the two cars. It is going to be an exciting summer for sure!
It is nice to be able to say I have two projects taking place on two different continents at the same time. Monday, June 6th will be the posting of my billboard in the financial district of New York City. In association with the Museum of American Financial History, I will have a billboard that will be posted above the subway entrance of Broadway and Rector Street just north of the Wall Street Bull sculpture and will be up through the 4th of July, the U.S. national holiday. The billboard will display the $100 U.S. Flag print on Coventry rag paper and provide the address of the museum's shop where my currency artworks will be on view and available for acquisition. As the New York City financial district is one of the most important financial centers in the world, the project made sense to pursue.
In addition, if you have been visiting my website in the last week and a half, you may also know that I am currently in Berlin, Germany and have begun working on my German Project. As of today, I own a 1990 Trabant and have seen a number of 190 Mercedes in Berlin. The actual fusion of the two cars will begin in late June. At this time, I am getting everything in order so that I can begin promptly when I return to Berlin later this month. To learn more about the project, please go to the PROJECTS section after you click on ARTWORKS in the main navigation. The German project is listed under the heading EINS WERDEN and is at the bottom of the page.
These are really exciting and happy times, and I feel very fortunate to be able to pursue my dreams!
